The NHSN is dedicated to improving the health equity of Hispanics by:
- Increasing the amount, quality, and disseminatio n of interdisciplinary translational research and;
- Fostering the development and advancement of Hispanic scientists to promote future leaders.
Panels discussed the topics of Etiologies of Health Disparities, Existing Interventions, as well as Health Reforms and Policies. The objective of the conference planning committee was to encompass a broader scientific focus beyond drug abuse and address health disparities, with an emphasis on improving the health equity of Hispanics. The conference also featured a pre-conference methodology workshop on August 24.
